Did you know that downtown Renton is not only full of energy, great food, and local charm — it’s also one of the most accessible downtowns in the region? With free parking (yes, really!) and walkable streets lined with shops, restaurants, and public art, it’s the perfect place to spend an afternoon or an entire day.

Where to Park — For Free
Downtown Renton offers several public parking lots that are free for everyone to use. While some lots may require a short walk to your destination, that’s part of the fun — downtown was designed for exploring on foot. On your stroll, say hi to Erasmus the dragon, find your favorite decorative fire hydrant, or treat yourself at local favorites like Macadons or Common Ground Coffee & Cupcakes. Just be sure to read signage carefully: some lots are reserved for customer parking only, and vehicles parked in the wrong spot may be towed. Street parking downtown is also plentiful, with most spaces offering a two‑hour limit.
Summer at the Square
This summer marks the launch of Summer at the Square at Legacy Square — Renton’s newest public gathering space. From June through September, enjoy a packed calendar of movie nights, live concerts, watch parties, and family‑friendly activities every weekend. The nearby parking garage makes attending easy, with free parking for up to 10 hours during events — plenty of time to enjoy the festivities, grab a bite, and explore the neighborhood. Some street closures may occur for large events, so remember to check for updates.
