Renton’s neighborhood corridors were built on local service, expertise, and personal connections. As part of our Visit Renton Legacy Business Campaign, we’re spotlighting some of the local retail staples and service institutions that give Renton its distinct character and community pride.

Retail & Service Cornerstones

Family-owned and operated since 1973, St. Charles Place has long been a cornerstone of historic downtown Renton. Spanning three floors, the shop offers an impressive collection of high-quality antique furniture, curated collectibles, and vintage décor—each piece chosen for character, craftsmanship, and charm. Under the care of the St. Charles Place team, the store has become more than a place to browse. Their skilled specialists provide expert restoration and repair, preserving the unique history behind every item. Whether you're a seasoned collector, a furniture enthusiast, or simply searching for a one-of-a-kind treasure, St. Charles Place offers a welcoming experience and a true connection to the past.

Opened in July 1982, King & Bunny's Appliances began humbly in a 600‑square‑foot portable building—armed with only catalog books, a hand truck, a beat‑up delivery truck, and six basic white appliances on display. Thanks to the dedication of its founders and the support of good friends, the business quickly became known for its friendly service, expertise, and commitment to helping Renton families find the right home appliances. Over the years, King & Bunny's grew significantly, completing four remodels and expanding into a 3,200‑square‑foot showroom featuring more than 200 major appliances. With a local warehouse holding over 400 units ready for immediate delivery, the store continues its tradition of reliability, convenience, and true community care.

Established around 1998, DK Market has grown into one of Renton's most recognizable international grocery destinations. The store, originally operated under different ownership as Lenny's, was later renamed by owner Danny Kwan, who expanded its offerings and community presence. DK Market relocated to its current warehouse‑style location, where it continues to serve the region with a diverse selection of global foods, specialty items, and everyday essentials.

Cugini Florists & Fine Gifts carries a rich heritage of serving King County and the greater Seattle region since 1923, becoming a cherished part of downtown Renton in 1973. Known for award-winning floral design and exceptional customer care, the shop blends traditional craftsmanship with a modern, curated selection of gifts and outdoor décor. Under the ownership of Arique Jaques since 2020, Cugini is continuing its legacy of creativity, inclusivity, and community connection. Whether celebrating joyful milestones or honoring heartfelt moments, their design team creates personalized bouquets, arrangements, and plants with genuine care—and offers same-day delivery for added convenience.

Founded in 1976 at 126 Rainier Avenue South, Gravity Sports holds the distinction of being the oldest skateboard and board shop in Washington and the Pacific Northwest. For nearly 50 years, it has operated in the exact same Renton location, serving generations of skaters, surfers, and snowboarders with gear, service, and a deep-rooted passion for board culture.
